Cruise downstream on the Perfume River, where you can listen to the guide's introduction and admire the dreamy landscapes and landmarks of Hue as you pass by each location, such as Hen Islet, famous for Hue's unique dishes like rice and clam vermicelli.
Continuing along the lower reaches of the Perfume River, you will be introduced to Sình Village, a village located on the banks of the Perfume River, known to have originated around the 15th century and famous for the Làng Sình wrestling festival held annually on the 10th day of the lunar year. You will receive bicycles to continue your journey, exploring Sình Village with various local activities.
On these village paths, you will have the opportunity to discover and gain a deeper understanding of the cultural aspects of the ancient architecture of the capital city's residents. You'll also encounter peaceful green rice fields that exude a serene rural charm.
Continuing the tour, you will visit the Thanh Tien Village paper flower exhibition house (the base of artisan Nguyen Hoa). Here, you can explore traditional paper flower designs and learn how to make lotus flowers under the guidance of a paper flower artisan from the village.
Next, you'll visit the Sình Village Paintings exhibition house (the base of artisan Kỳ Hữu Phước). Although Sình Village Paintings share some similarities with the Dong Ho painting style, they have evolved to cater to the spiritual needs of various ceremonies and blessings. Artisan Kỳ Hữu Phước explains that Sình Village Paintings are renowned for their use in worship, serving as offerings in religious rituals.
Sình Village Paintings have been used for generations by the people of Hue in various ceremonies and festivals. After the ceremonies, these paintings are burned as offerings to ancestors. Despite the significant demand, the tradition of Sình Village Paintings has faced challenges throughout its history and is gradually fading away.
